This website is a community led project to help support the Perranuthnoe Parish Council in designing and implementing a Neighbourhood Development Plan that is tailored for our local needs. The Perran Plan was initiated 4 years ago in which time a number of community consultations have taken place around the parish. The consultations tried to establish what the community sees as important in respect to any future development in the Parish. This feedback formed the basis of the draft document that is to be submitted.
So What is the Neighbourhood Plan?
The Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) establishes the local framework and policies on which to plan positively for sustainable development in our Parish over the next 10 years.
The NDP aims to ensure that development is sustainable and that it addresses local issues of importance to people here, so that we can sustain cohesive, healthy communities, protect our valuable natural and heritage resources, support local people with homes and facilities, and ensure that previous, inappropriate development planning in this Parish does not set a precedent for the future.
Through its policies the NDP defines how national and county planning frameworks should be interpreted and applied at the local level in our Parish. The NDP Policies are grouped under seven core objectives under the themes of: community welfare; housing and construction; building design; natural landscapes and biodiversity; heritage character and assets; economy and business; and decision making for sustainable development.
